Public Service Films are a type of film, often informational, that do not exist to satisfy corporate needs or to make a profit. Although there are not many, Public Service Films often are created for training purposes from companies hired out by other companies. The government also has been known to contract Public Service Films, which span a variety of topics including Public Safety, Clean Energy, and most notably topics relevant during wartime. The aforementioned government-funded Public Service Films, called Public Information Films in the UK, can be found at the National Archive website.
